People forget they are made up of more than just flesh and bones. Humans are also made up of energy and that energy needs to be directed in the right places.
According to Indian traditional medicine, Chakras are said to be force centers that exist in the surface of the etheric double of man. Seven major chakras or energy centers are generally believed to exist in the body. These chakras that we all have are in different colors and are identical to the colors found in the rainbow. I would like to share a very helpful meditation that is easy to do.
Color Breathing
It is also known as breathing in the rainbow. This exercise will heighten your awareness of color and will help align a balance of all the seven chakras in your body. Remember, like everything else, color has energy.
To begin you need to allow yourself to be free from any distractions. Find a comfortable spot sitting down, reclining whatever makes you happy. Relax your shoulders and concentrate on your breathing . Breathe in deeply through the nose into the stomach and exhale through the nose. Repeat this several times. You will be more relaxed as you do your breathing. Imagine each breath you inhale is pure healing air, and each breath you exhale is toxic waste leaving you forever. Once you feel relaxed you may begin the following:
Imagine yourself in front of a beautiful rainbow, and watch yourself walk into the color red. Feel the red travel through your body filling you with strength and well-being. Immerse yourself with red fruit , vegetables and flowers and breathe in their nutrients, and delicate fragrance. When you are ready to move to the next color, thank red for sharing its healing energy. Repeat this technique with orange, then yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. When Practiced daily this meditation will truly enhance your body’s energies.
